The Cloister Hotel
Originally built in 1928, The Cloister has been lovingly rebuilt and was reopened to visitors in April 2006. Its distinctive and unique architecture, together with its finishes and decor, have received enthusiastic reviews from guests including receiving the Forbes Five-Star award (formerly Mobil) in 2009 and 2010. The Cloister remains the focal point of the Sea Island community. Cloister guests and Sea Island Club Members enjoy the breathtaking elegance and sophistication of the Forbes Five-Star Georgian Room as well as a clubroom for music and dancing, and exquisite facilities for member events.

The Cloister Spa
Adjacent to The Cloister hotel is the 65,000-square-foot Cloister Spa, which features a full program of body treatments, fitness classes, health and nutrition seminars. The new spa opened in late 2006, features twenty-three treatment rooms and also received the Forbes Five-Star award.

Sea Island Tennis
The Tennis Center at Sea Island offers eight Har-Tru^® fast-dry clay-composition tennis courts, including four lighted courts and one stadium court. On neighboring St. Simons, the Retreat Tennis Center features eight tennis courts with four lighted for evening play. The resort’s full-service tennis program offers professional instruction for individuals and groups, as well as partner matching for practice or games.

The Beach Club
Just across the drive from The Cloister is the Beach Club, with three pools, a splash pad, playground, impeccable beach- and pool-side service, and private cabanas. A movie theater, expanded space for childrens’ activities, Big George's, Snack Bar, and Ice Cream Parlor are part of the Beach Club which opened in 2006.

Residences on The Cloister Grounds
Residential options in the Beach Club and on the grounds of The Cloister range from one- to two-bedroom suites to grand penthouses of more than 5,000 square feet. Residents enjoy full access to both the Beach Club and The Cloister, plus application rights to the Sea Island Club.
